EDucation for a sustainable Living Program

They are a student-run organization which offers  student- facilitated Action Research Teams (ARTs) for credit every spring quarter at University of California Santa Cruz.  Their class has two components: a Monday Night Speaker Series and the ARTs, all of which are based on topics found in the Blueprint for a Sustainable Campus.

Campus sustainability council

The funding body of the SEC, and ESLP, they provide funding to registered UCSC student organizations for programs and events that create, implement, and monitor environmentally sound practices on campus as established in the Blueprint for a a Sustainable Campus. 

SOAR/Student Media/Cultural Arts and Diversity (SOMeCA) is dedicated to the success of UCSC’s campus-wide student organizations. Student organizations are transformative learning environments, vital to the educational mission of the University. They offer students opportunities to engage as leaders and to make a difference. They create programs and productions that build community and campus-wide discourse.

 

The Student Agency Model is an innovative approach to student development that fosters each student’s sense of agency or the “capacity to exercise control over the nature and quality of one’s life” (Manning, Kinzie, & Schuh, 2014, p. 146).
